Theatre procedures:
- Theatre Procedures: referral to assessment appointment 8 weeks, assessment to surgery 10 weeks
See & Treat Services (1-stop appointment):
- Minor Oculoplastics – offering eyelid and lacrimal procedures including syringing of tear ducts, Meibomian cyst/chalazion removal, eyelid lesions, and insertion of punctal plugs for punctual plugs)
- YAG Laser Capsulotomy – a small proportion of patients who undergo cataract surgery will see opacification of the posterior lens capsule, this prevents light reaching the retina. The procedure restores clear vision; usually one appointment with no follow-up.
Diagnostics:
- Optical coherence tomography (OCT)
- Biometry – used to calculate the power of intraocular lens (IOL) implants required for cataract surgery
- Visual Fields – used to detect dysfunction in central and peripheral vision
- A-scan ultrasound biometry
- B-scan ultrasonography
