The Community Heart Health Check programme is here to help you understand more about heart health and give you better control over your health outcomes.

This programme offers you the opportunity to receive a free heart health check within your community, without the need to unnecessarily travel to your nearest healthcare provider.

The Community Heart Health Check programme aims to provide individuals and groups direct access to healthcare services which they wouldn’t normally engage with.

You are not required to pre-book onto one of these events to receive a free heart health check.

Community Heart Health Checks can help to identify risks of something called cardiovascular disease.

This condition is the number one cause of death globally. It is estimated, however, that up to 80% of cases are caused by modifiable risk factors such as smoking, obesity, excessive alcohol consumption and more.

We know cardiovascular disease is prevalent across our local area. This is why we’re providing direct access to this service which many in our local community would ordinarily struggle to access.

At our pop-up events, you will be greeted by a friendly team whose top priority is to help you understand more about heart health.

With your consent, you will undergo heart health checks which include blood pressure tests, heart rate monitoring, BMI measurements and a finger-pick cholesterol test.

Our team will talk you through each test as well as what the results mean for you.

If you decide the results may require additional diagnosis and treatment, you may be referred to your GP for further investigation.

The Community Heart Health Check programme is being delivered by the Warwickshire North Place healthcare team.

George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust is the primary partner in the delivery of heart health checks.
