Letters to Loved Ones

George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust has launched this service to help provide vital communications between hospital inpatients and their loved ones.

This service was originally set up in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Letters for loved ones aims to provide a way for loved ones to send messages, letters and photographs to their family members or friends in the hospital.

Messages and photographs can be sent in a variety of ways including:

·       An email to PALS@geh.nhs.uk

·       A phone call to a dedicated line 07920 380481 (please leave a message)

·       A text message to 07920 380481

Relatives and friends are asked to provide the patient’s full name, date of birth and the ward that they are staying on.

A team of specially trained volunteers will then ensure that the messages are delivered to the patients on the wards.

We can also arrange video calls with inpatients and their families on request.
