George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust has launched this service to help provide vital communications between hospital inpatients and their loved ones.
This service was originally set up in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Letters for loved ones aims to provide a way for loved ones to send messages, letters and photographs to their family members or friends in the hospital.
Messages, letters and photographs can be emailed to loveletters
Relatives and friends are asked to provide the patient’s full name, date of birth and the ward that they are staying on.
A team of specially trained volunteers will then ensure that the messages are delivered to the patients on the wards.
We can also arrange video calls with inpatients and their families on request.
Please note that this service is available Monday – Friday. We are unable to deliver letters at the weekends or on bank holidays.
