Biography 

Mr Izadi MA(Cantab) MA(Oxon) FRCS(Plast) Eur PGDipl Hand Surg, fEBHS is a substantive consultant plastic surgeon based at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. He has an out-patients clinic weekly on Tuesday mornings at George Eliot Hospital. On alternate Tuesday afternoons he runs a day case local anaesthetics list at George Eliot Hospital.

Mr Izadi graduated from Girton College, Cambridge University with honours in 2005. His higher surgical training in plastic surgery was based in the Southwest of England across Bristol, Plymouth and Exeter. He is on the General Medical Council’s (GMC) specialist register for plastic surgery (GMC no. 6115912) having successfully passed the Plastic Surgery Board examinations (FRCS Plast) and been awarded certificate of completion of training. Mr Izadi is a Fellow of the European Board of Hand Surgery, having successfully completed the European Hand Surgery Diploma. 

Mr Izadi has been awarded several national awards. These include the International Dupuytren Prize in 2020, the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon’s (BAPRAS) European Scholarship, the British Society for Surgery of the Hand’s (BSSH) Education Travel Award, the BSSH Best Trainee Award, the BSSH Educational Prize, the BAPRAS John Barron Prize, the BAPRAS Traveling Bursary Award, the Royal College of Surgeons of England Research Fellowship Award, Kennedy Trust Funded Fellowships, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh Small Project Grant and a BAPRAS Pump Priming Grant. He has published several original research articles, book chapters and abstracts in the fields of hand, plastic and reconstructive surgery and has been an invited speaker at several national and international meetings.

Mr Izadi has completed a nationally appointed advanced training interface group (TIG) fellowship in hand surgery at the Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby. He has also completed hand surgery fellowships in Paris and Sierra Leone, having been awarded the Federation of European Society for Surgery of the Hand (FESSH) fellowship to visit the Institut de la Main, Paris and the BSSH Trainee Global Hand Surgery Fellowship Award to visit Makeni, Sierra Leone. Furthermore, Mr Izadi has completed a cosmetic surgery fellowship in Bristol.
Main areas of interest

Mr Izadi's main areas of interest are in elective and emergency hand surgery, surgical reanimation of the upper limb to help restore function following upper limb nerve injuries and upper limb spasticity. 

He is also interested in surgical treatment of skin cancers, reconstruction of pelvic floor defects and complex abdominal wall problems, microsurgery for reconstruction of extremity limb injuries following major trauma and general plastic surgery.
