Check-in kiosks have been installed at George Eliot Hospital to speed up the check in process for patients in both outpatients and therapy services.
Patients will benefit from shorter queues and reception staff will have more time to spend on those patients with more complicated queries.
Each touch-screen kiosk asks a few simple questions including date of birth. It only takes around 40 seconds to check-in with this new innovation from the George Eliot Hospital.
This installation follows a successful three month trial to test this new, easy-to-use facility within the Outpatients Department in 2016.
All of the check-in kiosks have been positioned near the entrance to each area and patients will be given a patient number once they have completed the process.
The kiosks also benefit those patients whose first language is not English because users can pick instructions in English, other languages or alternative formats (yellow and black). Each Kiosk has been personalised to support the local demographics within Nuneaton, Bedworth, North Warwickshire and surrounding areas.
