A new car parking system is coming into effect at George Eliot Hospital from Thursday 20th February 2025 to make it easier for patients and visitors to pay to park at the hospital.
The new Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system, which will be provided by GroupNexus, will capture the registration of all vehicles that enter and leave the hospital and will be linked to new on-site pay machines to enable you to pay before you leave the hospital.
People will be given more convenient payment options including cash, card and contactless at the payment machines and the option to pay via an app.
Patients and visitors will still need to park in marked bays and only use visitor parking areas in adherence to car parking rules, failure to do so will see users receiving a Parking Charge.
New signage will be in place to inform users of the requirements and relevant parking areas.
To help enable these improvements a small price increase is being brought in. Please refer to the table below on the new visitor parking charges. Patients and visitors will be able to drop off and pick up for 30 minutes including taxis for free.
