We are delighted to be able to share the memory of two special people on behalf of our colorectal patient support group.
A special bench has been placed in the corridor towards Endoscopy and Captain Sir Tom Moore Unit in the hospital, to be used by patients, families, visitors and staff.
The positioning is significant as these are two areas where colorectal patients regularly attend for diagnostics and surgical treatment.
The bench was gifted to the trust late in March by Lorraine Wilson, in memory of her husband Andy Wilson who passed away last year. Andys family attended when the bench was put in place and is adorned with a plaque dedicated to his memory.
The kindness of Andy’s family was demonstrated when they agreed for a new plaque to be added to the bench to remember a long-standing member of the support group, Maggie Budge
Maggie passed away last year and was a well loved and respected member of the group.
The plaque was added last week with her proud family in attendance, ensuring her memory will live on.
We thank both families for their support of the hospital and to patients for many years to come.
